How to get to the castle

GETTING TO THE MONUMENT

You can reach the monument by train, road or bus. Irigo" bus stops nearby: "Office de Tourisme" and "Château".

Make sure you arrive early! The château is in a pedestrian zone, and it takes at least 10 minutes to walk to the entrance from the tourist bus drop-off points or bus stops, and 20 minutes from the station.

ARRIVING AT THE SITE

1. The group waits in the porch while the guide goes to the ticket office with their booking contract.

Accessibility and visiting conditions

FACILITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH REDUCED MOBILITY

The monument is partially accessible to people with reduced mobility, with treads and lifts. Some areas of the tour route can only be reached by climbing a number of steps.

Two wheelchairs can be borrowed from the château reception (remember to reserve them!) and folding chairs are available in the Apocalypse Gallery.

INCLUSIVE CONFERENCE VISITS

Don't forget to let us know if your group includes people with reduced mobility, so that we can give you the best possible advice on choosing a conference tour and adapting our tour routes.

The monument can also offer tailor-made tours specially adapted for the hearing impaired (tours in LSF), the visually impaired (tactile tours), the intellectually impaired or the cognitively impaired.

DRESS APPROPRIATELY

The Château d'Angers is an open-air monument. Most of the sheltered areas, such as the chapel, the porte des champs and the royal lodgings, have little or no heating. The Apocalypse Gallery is air-conditioned to a temperature of 19°C all year round.
